Margarita Fizz Recipe

It's 90 degrees here in beautiful Bloomington, Indiana. And though that's cooler than predicted, plus we're not getting quite the killer humidity we were expecting, it's definitely the sort of day for a long, cool drink. Over at ... Dana Carpender's Hold the Toast Facebook page, the talk had turned to summer libations, and I had to come here and post this recipe:

Margarita Fizz

1 shot tequila
1 shot lime juice
1-2 teaspoons granular Splenda, or the equivalent in the liquid stuff
8 ounces orange sparkling water, chilled

Mix the first three ingredients in a tall glass, and fill with ice. Pour in the sparkling water, and enjoy.

Things You May Not Know About Me: I love tequila. Easily my favorite liquor. Favor Sauza Gold, not Cuervo; the Sauza's much smoother.

That said, I'm still not drinking today. Damn it. Not till I'm back down to where I was a week ago.

Sueza

Try the Sueza Comemarativo . It's better than the Gold. In Mexico, Sueza is very inexpensive as well as very good. I still like my Margarita on the rocks. That's what I get for living on the Mexican border for several years.

Sauza

It's not expensive here -- I often see it for less than Cuervo.

I often think the reason so many people are sure they don't like tequila is that they've only had Cuervo. The stuff is very harsh. Fit only for mixing.
